About JDP Clearing and Excavation
Jarod T. Poulin | Owner & President
Before founding JDP, Jarod worked as a union operating engineer on pipeline projects. That field experience shaped how he approaches each job: understand the work limits, plan equipment access, coordinate the sequence, and work through changing ground conditions.
Jarod started JDP with backyard clearing jobs and built the business around hands-on field work. Today, JDP Clearing and Excavation supports general contractors and project owners with commercial clearing and grubbing, excavation, grading, demolition, erosion and sediment control, and site utility support in Richmond, Central Virginia, and selected projects throughout Virginia.
JDP is a VDOT-prequalified contractor, vendor J2215. The pipeline photograph shows Jarod’s experience with prior employers before JDP.

Close Out Clearly
Review cleanup and the agreed finished condition so everyone understands what is complete. JDP provides labor, equipment, and supervision; the GC or owner furnishes materials unless included in our written proposal.
