Heavy Civil & Pipeline Experience
These photographs show Jarod Poulin’s work as a union operating engineer with prior employers before founding JDP.
Experience Behind JDP
JDP Clearing & Excavation LLC is built on hands-on heavy-civil and pipeline operating experience. Owner Jarod Poulin’s background as an operating engineer informs how JDP approaches production, equipment, access, sequencing, safety, and coordination in the field. That experience matters because site preparation is rarely a collection of isolated machine tasks. Clearing affects haul routes and erosion controls, excavation affects grading and utility access, and every early-site operation has to leave workable conditions for the next trade.
This gallery documents the field experience behind JDP’s current commercial clearing, excavation, grading, erosion and sediment-control support, utility excavation, drainage-related work, demolition, and coordinated site-preparation capabilities. The practical focus is on reading the work area, understanding how equipment and trucks can move through the site, planning production around changing ground conditions, keeping staging organized, and identifying scope or sequencing conflicts before they create avoidable delays.
Current JDP Project Scopes
JDP’s current work is performed under the applicable project drawings, approved plans, site rules, and written subcontract. The exact scope, crew, equipment package, production sequence, and material responsibility vary by project. JDP normally provides labor, equipment, supervision, and field execution for accepted scopes, while permanent materials are typically furnished by the general contractor or owner unless specifically included in writing.
Richmond and Central Virginia are JDP’s core operating market. Selected statewide projects are evaluated when project size, schedule, access, and scope justify mobilization. The objective is consistent: clear boundaries, disciplined field execution, reliable communication, and a work area that is ready for the next construction operation.
